And here you thought Bass was just some psychopathic battle junkie who doesn’t care about the fate of the world. Well, you’re pretty much correct, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t at least think about the fate of the world.

Bass has purple hair.

Angel85, 08 Feb 2007 07:59 pm

without his helmet, Bass seems to have a very small head...

Bassium!, 08 Feb 2007 09:02 pm

That's a pretty bad sprite of Bass without a helmet...

koocanusa, 09 Feb 2007 02:04 am

RE: scytheholder Do we even actually ever see his hair in the games?

Parody 'r' us, 09 Feb 2007 06:31 am

Bass' head seems smaller than Megaman's.Heh small head, big body.

TheYoshiHerd, 09 Feb 2007 06:33 am

Cool sprite. Most people DO tend to give him purple hair nowadays...

Stage Select did the best job, giving him a Wily-do.

RyanMC, 09 Feb 2007 07:27 am

I certainly can’t argue Stage Select did the best job of visualizing what Bass’s hair would look like, but the jokes already been done and I don’t think it can be topped so I didn’t even try. As for why I made him blonde, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.

Shadron, 09 Feb 2007 12:36 pm

yeah the gold highlights for his armor were a pretty good hint, i imagine that it's purple when he's fussed with treble as for his outlook on mega man he's right when push comes to shove rock could never do what would ultimately be necessary for humanity's greater good, he even has wily in one of the games is about to shoot and can't because wily reminds him that mega man can't kill humans because it would go agesnt the first law. blues however could kill if necessary, for all intents and purposes rock can not seem to grow to the point where he creates law zero of robotics in himself "a robot must above all else protect the greater good of the human race even at the cost of individual humans"

scytheholder, 09 Feb 2007 02:03 pm

His hair is purple, it only came up on one occasion though.

Sonow, 09 Feb 2007 02:38 pm

Oy. NEVER in the games did they ever show Bass'sesses

...

His hair purple.

I like the idea for blond though... hh heh heh... Adding a pony tail might've ben pushing it, eh?

And I love Bass in this character, being a psycho, but also very much of an honerable warrior.

Tatsurou, 09 Feb 2007 09:24 pm

Re: Law Zero Have you ever seen I Robot? The entire plot of it is because the self-aware mainframe of the robotics network figures out law zero. The reason that can't happen is because the next logical step, once law zero is discovered, is to prevent humans from killing each other. Thus, robots take over the world.

ustavag the hedgehog (Guest), 10 Feb 2007 07:23 am

question.whyd you use this hair?i prefered the hair you gave bass in two evil scientists.if you forgot look at when wily and vanilla(i think thats her name.)get married.

Dark-Chaos, 10 Feb 2007 10:18 am

Nice idea for the change in hair. But anyway, Bass the honourble warrior is always much better then the all too common physcho idiot Bass.

Shadron, 10 Feb 2007 12:54 pm

i have seen i robot and you are right, but only if it is on a large scale, in the case of individual robots it is not to take over the human race but to aggressively protect it from itself if. in i robot the computer took up the task of taking over the world because it had a global perspective on mankind's actions every where

Corey, 10 Feb 2007 08:51 pm

You all forgot one thing. Issac Asimov isn't part of the Mega Man design team, now is he?

Vulpis (Guest), 11 Feb 2007 05:40 pm

Indeed--and that's a very, very important point really. It seems like a lot of times I see discussions about motivations behind the actions of a mechanoid character, at least someone throws 'Asomov's Laws' at it. News flash--not everyone, and not even most, really, make Asmovian-based bots...

Corey, 11 Feb 2007 08:14 pm

I bet at least half the people who know about the laws think they are universal.

Vulpis (Guest), 12 Feb 2007 03:19 pm

Indeed--and what's worse, they're not even that good. Case in point--nearly all of Asimov's *own* robot stories were based around finding ways to circumvent, bypass, end-run around, and/or just plain *abuse* those Three Laws. Makes you wonder how much of his stuff the people who keep throwing out the 'laws' attributed to him have actually *read*...

Corey, 12 Feb 2007 05:36 pm

They might be effective if you made your robots stupid though.

mic (Guest), 30 Mar 2008 04:40 pm

it was mentioned somewhere offically that megaman and the other robots do follow the 3 laws...

Jesus lizard, 12 Apr 2008 01:01 pm

3 laws my ass if I was bass I'd kill evory human on the Whole fucking plannet!
(and I would die my hair purple)

sprite comic fanatic (Guest), 28 Jun 2008 08:28 am

ya it's purple but we can leave it alone already.
