But they were programed for Self Presevation... thats one of the 3 Laws, as long as it dosen't result in the robot doing something to make it survive that risks the life of a human. Technicly it's his inactions, not his actions that would kill Doctor Light. On the other hand he may know, or convince himself to know that Wily wants to gloat over Light once he's won.

The law says they can't allow it to happen through inaction either though.

1st:A robot must not harm, or through inaction allow harm to come to, a human.
2nd:A robot must obey a direct order from a human being unless it conflicts with the first law.
3rd:A robot must act to preserve it's own existence unless it conflicts with the first or second law.
