As Chrono Crossover draws ever closer to the end of the the comic, I find myself needing to devote more and more time to it. Unfortunately, I've also developed some new sprites and techniques which has left Mega Girl in need of some major updates, as well as other attention. Combining these two time demands with my other comic, as well as my personal life (believe it or not, I actually do have one), I find myself somewhat pressed for time, and something has to give. However, given that Chrono Crossover is almost over, while mega Girl has the potential to last a few more years, it only makes sense to give Chrono Crossover the attention it needs to end with the glory it deserves. And once I'm done with it, I'll have more time to turn my attention to Mega Girl, and give it the time and dedication it needs. As for how long it will be, it's hard to say. It really all depends on how long it take for Crono Crossover to end. I'm trying not push it's end, but rather let the story bring itself to an end. But don't worry, Roll will return soon, and it will be worth the wait.

In 05, 04, 03, 02, 01... With the countdown rapidly approaching zero, its time for recap and rampant speculation.

To recap Roll's love interest, Bass, blew himself up in an act of nobility and violence.

She's currently fighting a knight-in-shining-armor class robot.

However, she is dressed as a boy, specifically her brother MegaMan.

Her other brother, Protoman, is cross-dressing as her to fool Dr. Light.

Dr. Light is old, weak, and possibly dying a little in this comic. He is currently being nursed by Auto.

Even more worrisome is that a "Zero prototype," Omega, is currently positioned to observe and/or kill Dr. Light.

Omega has the ability to question Wily's orders, but he seems to have the ability and the preference to question Wily himself. Dr. Wily listens to his questions and occasionally changes his orders if Omega raises a valid point.

Its as if future world emperor Wily values the advice of the general of his one-man army. This is how MegaMan came to be a disembodied head in Dr. Wily's clutches. MegaMan has the ability to speak and is currently engaged in a loosing psychological war with Dr. Wily.


Speculation: In the first game the robot masters were built by Dr. Light with a failsafe if they ever became damaged. The robots would transmit their memory banks as a broadcast signal and from the data, Dr. Light would analyze how to fix and improve the robot.

He also used this data to give MegaMan their weapons.

During the next few games, Dr. Wily still used Thomas' basic design so either the signal was still being sent to the Light laboratories or Light was hacking the signal.

Right now, Dr. Wily has disabled the transmitter altogether, so Roll forgetting to collect the Robot Master's data has become a running gag.

With five robot masters to go, that one of the masters would observe the master with their greatest weakness, swoop in and collect the data instead is a valid concern. A robot master dual-wielding powers isn't a problem MegaMan's experience will be much help in, so its ideal for an "original thinker" like Roll.

KendoMan is actually a valid candidate for this. Consider that if his current sword is wood(man) what would happen if he combined it with fire powers? This might be the only way to deal with Omega if he pulls out the lightsaber(s). Meanwhile if the double-master dies, heroically or otherwise, his data now contains two weapons and how to wield two weapons, very useful if you have sheild and a blaster.

The question is how to end the current battle "honorably."

This theory lends itself the solution: Think of the ever popular Magma Dragoon. What could a Dragon have more to fear of than a swordsman? And in terms of honor, beating a coward and a traitor who interrupts a sacred duel for reasons of personal gain trumps ending the misery of a crippled opponent...
